Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, known for its legacy of academic excellence and commitment to holistic development, once again showcased its vibrant campus life through Athlos 2025. The flagship annual sports fest, organized by the Sports Committee, took place from October 31st to November 2nd. This celebrated three-day event stands as one of Eastern India’s most anticipated inter-B-school sports competitions, uniting top institutions for a thrilling display of talent, competition, and friendship.
As a top business school, XIM was proud to host many sporting events with many top B-schools from the area joining in. This year’s event saw teams from XIM New Campus, IIM Sambalpur, KSOM, IMI Kolkata, IMI Bhubaneswar, Birla Global University, and Regional College of Management (RCM), competing with the host, XIMB. The first day kicked off with exciting matches in cricket, futsal, and basketball, starting three days of tough competition.
Over the three days, the campus was buzzing with energy as students competed in 15 different events: Cricket (Men’s and Women’s), Pool, Futsal, Football, Basketball (Men’s and Women’s), Carrom, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Throwball, Volleyball, Badminton, and Chess. The excitement peaked on the final day, which was packed with a thrilling lineup of finals. The day’s action began with the Women’s Cricket final, followed by the high-paced Futsal final.
The energy continued to build with the Basketball finals, which had the crowd on their feet. Spectators then gathered for the intense Pool and Badminton finals. The entire event built up to the grand finale, the Men’s Football final, which drew the largest crowd and concluded the sporting events in spectacular fashion.
The event ended on November 2nd with a big closing ceremony in the XIMB Auditorium. The event was sponsored by IFFCO Paradeep Unit and associate-sponsored by Omni Link. The closing ceremony was attended by Mr. PK Tripathy, Senior Manager (Coordination) from IFFCO, and Prof. Arijit Mitra, Associate Dean of Student Affairs, XIMB. They gave awards to the winners and runners-up, ending the exciting sports event on a high note.
Over the three days, Athlos 2025 was filled with good sportsmanship and friendly competition. XIMB showed outstanding performance, finishing as the Overall Champions with a leading score. XIM New Campus also did very well, taking the Overall Runner-up spot. The success of Athlos 2025 was marked not just by the great athletic skill, but also by the friendship shared among all the participants and fans.
