Belabari, Odisha: The Belabari Premier League (BPL) 2025, a four-day local cricket tournament organized by the Belabari Sports Club, is scheduled to take place from December 25 to December 28, 2025. The tournament will feature seven teams and aims to promote grassroots cricket while strengthening community participation in sports.
The league is being conducted under the leadership of President Pankaj Khatoi, with Rudra Narayan Panda serving as the Secretary of the Belabari Sports Club. Bishwojeet Behera, who has been appointed as the Chief Advisor, is guiding the tournament with his experience in sports administration and community engagement.
According to the organizers, the Belabari Premier League has been conceptualized as a platform to identify and encourage local cricketing talent. The tournament will follow a structured league format, allowing teams multiple matches and ensuring competitive balance throughout the four-day event. The Organizing Committee, consisting of Ranjit Behera, Badal Khatoi, Amara Jyoti Patra, Soumya Ranjan Khatoi, Bijay Jena, Abhilash Sethi and Jagabandhu Pradhan, has been overseeing logistics, scheduling and match operations. Committee members confirmed that preparations, including ground readiness and team coordination, have been completed ahead of the opening day.
The tournament has received significant support from Sashirekha Constructions, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, which has come on board as the Official Sponsor. The sponsorship has enabled the organizers to enhance infrastructure, ensure better match facilities and manage operational requirements. Organizers acknowledged that such support plays a crucial role in sustaining community-level sporting initiatives.
Cricket enthusiasts in and around Belabari are expected to turn up in large numbers during the tournament days.
